Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays, this past weekend did not disappoint! We started the weekend off with a "get together" up in the mountains with Jordan's cousins. It was a fun time. Drake had a ball running around and digging in the dirt. He was "cleaning" me with the dirt in this picture.
Saturday evening we went down to Pearl Street mall with Jordan's cousins and Kami and Rich. It was a wonderful summer evening. Drake was a good sport, we kept him out pretty late and he handled himself very well! It helped that there were a few little parks within the walking mall.
We were able to go to 2 firework shows! Jordan and I LOVE fireworks, sadly we did not pass this affinity onto Drake. He screamed through the first half of the first show. But by the second he was an old Pro "oooing and awwing" with the rest of us.
We kept telling Drake the fireworks were a celebration for U.S.A.'s birthday. So he insisted that we have cake (it isn't a proper birthday without cake right?). So D helped me make red, white, and blue cupcakes for a little birthday party. We sang "Happy Birthday U.S.A." and Drake blew out a flame app on Jordan's phone. It was so fun celebrating with family and friends. I am so grateful for our country and for the freedom's and luxuries that we enjoy.
