5 Months!

I cannot believe that it has been five months since I last updated the blog. I am such a slacker! I was just too busy enjoying summer and having fun to update my blog!

SUMMER 2010

Of course we started our summer off with the traditional Memorial Day Boulder Bolder festivities. We went to the stadium and cheered for the Tarullo's that participated (Kathy, Rod, Cami, and Caylee.) We had a wonderful time, but the weather was especially warm this year so it was tough to keep Drake happy in the stands. The positive aspect to having such warm weather was that the parachutists and the fly over were not rained out like they had been in the past. Drake did not flinch at all for the fighter jet fly over, but was terrified when the parachutists flew into the stadium.

In June, we welcomed our new niece Jade Aria. Cara had her 3 weeks early, but everything went well, Jade is a sweetheart and looks JUST LIKE her older sister Layla.

July was a very busy and wonderful month for us. We started out with a visit to Tiny Town with my sisters, nephews, and Mom. It was fun to see the kids get excited about the houses that were "just their size", and it brought back memories of visiting Tiny Town when I was younger :).
July was a big month for Jordan. He turned 27, and got a new job! He is now the Director of Housekeeping at the Buff Lodge in Boulder and is LOVING it. We were excited that this opportunity has come up because he is stepping the right direction for a career in hospitality. This is an industry he has always wanted to progress in.

We also had a fun day trip to Buena Vista with the Anderson clan. We enjoyed a picnic and day of fishing!Drake had a great time playing with his cousins and exploring the woods with his Dad.

The last week in July we had our friends the Smiths come and visit us from Idaho. We had a blast! We went to Louisville street festival, the Dragon Boat festival, and Estes Park, and a pretty spectacular Scentsy convention. I took pictures on my phone but do not know how to download them. Hopefully I can put those pictures up soon!

Finally, to close out our summer we went to the Colorado State Fair and the Balloon Glow at the Hot Air Balloon Classic in Colorado Springs on Labor day. Drake thought that the balloons were "the bee's knees" He loves balloons and balls right now so to see GIANT balloons was the best thing that he could ask for. He ran around the park pointing to each balloon and saying "hot, hot." Once again, I need to upload those pictures soon!

This summer was a great time for me. I really enjoyed watching Drake grow and explore his world. All of my adventures has made me really appreciate the mountains and beautiful Colorado. I am excited to see what fall will bring!
